- As part of the study abroad application process, students are expected to consult with their academic advisor to ensure that a study abroad experience aligns with their degree requirements and supports timely academic progress.
- All classes taken abroad must have an RPI course equivalent and be approved for the transfer of credit by the designated Study Abroad Transfer Credit Approval Evaluator.
- Students are encouraged to obtain course approvals prior to departure and to have backup courses approved in the event that their first-choice classes are unavailable.

- Students are expected to remain enrolled full-time with the equivalent of at least 12 RPI credits.
- The equivalent of a C- must be earned in order for credit to transfer.
