New F-1 Students

Steps to Take Before Coming to Campus

  1. Pay the SEVIS I-901 Fee
  2. Get your F-1 visa
  3. Submit immunization/health requirement records to Student Health and Wellness
  4. Book your travel tickets
    • Don't forget about arriving in time for your orientation dates
    • You can enter the U.S. up to 30 days before the start date on your I-20
  5. Set up RPI Email (RCS Account) - Follow these instructions
  6. Pay Tuition – Visit the Bursar's Office for detailed instructions and additional information for International students
  7. Check for email communications from International Services for Students and Scholars

Important Dates for New/Incoming Students and Scholars

January 09
  • Exchange Student Welcome (ESW)
    • 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. in the Off-Campus Commons
    • Welcome and immigration hosted by Education Abroad / International Services (ISSS)
      • This in-person event is required for all incoming exchange students

 

  • Spring 2026 New Student Orientation
January 11
  • International Student Welcome (ISW)
    • 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. in the Student Success Center (Folsom Library, 1st floor)
    • Registration is required to save your seat - Register here
    • Hosted by ISSS
      • This in-person event is required for all new international students and scholars + incoming exchange students
January 12
  • DUE DATE: Electronic Check-In (ECI) + International Student Foundations (ISF)
  • First day of classes for Spring 2026
January 19
  • No classes in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (U.S. Federal Holiday)
