New F-1 Students

Steps to Take Before Coming to Campus

  1. Pay the SEVIS I-901 Fee
  2. Get your F-1 visa
  3. Submit immunization/health requirement records to Student Health and Wellness
  4. Book your travel tickets
    • Don't forget about arriving in time for your orientation dates
    • You can enter the U.S. up to 30 days before the start date on your I-20
  5. Set up RPI Email (RCS Account) - Follow these instructions
  6. Pay Tuition – Visit the Bursar's Office for detailed instructions and additional information for International students
  7. Check for email communications from International Services for Students and Scholars

Spring 2026 New Student Orientation 

International Students Welcome (for Undergraduate, Graduate, and/or Exchange students)

An opportunity for new students to get to know each other and make new connections, as well as meet the ISSS staff. 

  • Hosted by ISSS
  • Date: Sunday, January 11, 2026
  • Time: 9:00 am - 11:00 am. Arrive at 8:45 a.m. for check-in, the event begins promptly at 9:00 a.m.
  • Location: To be announced.
  • Registration is required to save your seat for the event - registration link coming soon!

This is separate from the orientation which will be held by either the First Year Experience office (for undergraduates) or the Office of Graduate Education (for graduates).

January 12: First day of classes for Spring 2026

January 19: No classes in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (U.S. Federal Holiday)
